Telephone and Communication Services (TCS) has a core business based on supply, installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems plus relevant network hardware including headsets, video conference equipment and CCTV. TCS is based in Launceston but has been successfully serving customers state-wide in Tasmania for over 30 years.

In 2018, colleagues and good mates, Andy Booth and Greg Brewer were looking for a new challenge after many years of working together at Telstra Business Centre. The opportunity to purchase TCS came up, and Andy and Greg jumped at the chance. After working for TCS for two years, Andy and Greg officially took control in December 2020.

With very different, yet complementary skills, Andy and Greg have endeavoured to create a customer-first approach, and a fun team culture. Greg has the technical knowledge, while Andy oversees and manages projects to understand long-term solutions.

TCS now has a team of 7 operating from the head office in Launceston, but offers a statewide service with staff available in Hobart, the North West and East Coast of Tasmania. Because of this, TCS are highly responsive to each and every job.

Customer service is at the heart of TCS. By providing exceptional, local service to the Tasmanian community, TCS believe in building business through amazing experience and the word of mouth of happy customers.

Working across large and small businesses, as well as residential clients, TCS can provide the right person to get the job done. Not only that, but staff will not leave until the job is done. If this means working after hours and weekends, it is not a problem- the team’s flexibility and reliability will ensure the job is done to a standard the client is happy with.

While some competitors are restricted to working with a single brand, TCS are not. Rather, the qualified experts working as part of the team of technicians are accredited to work on many makes and models of phone systems.

This positions TCS well with interstate clients looking to outsource work, with TCS fast becoming a preferred subcontractor in Tasmania. TCS also provide cabling services, which are often directly to an extensive statewide customer base, either directly or also as subcontractor to service providers, electrical and IT companies.

Through experience, TCS understand that customers simply want one point of contact. As such, TCS can offer an end-to-end solution where one team member will project manage the whole transaction whether that is a phone system upgrade or a full migration from one service provider to another.

Andy Booth

After spending many years living in the UK working in manufacturing and business management, Andy moved back to Tasmania with his young family. While working at Telstra, Andy took on the role of solution selling and project management.

As such, Andy is able to understand the needs of a client now, and in the future, so can recommend a long-term cost-effective solution that works. By doing so, Andy can provide a future-proof solution for clients. By being able to decipher tech lingo, Andy works as the problem solver who understands what the techs are saying and how to move forward with a project.

Greg Brewer

For those who haven’t heard of Greg, he is one of the top phone technicians in Tasmania. He is well known throughout the industry both in Tasmania, and throughout Australia. With 14 years in the industry, Greg is multi-skilled and provides the right solution for the job.

Greg has worked for the largest Samsung dealer in Australia and has extensive experience working on some major nationwide projects and installs. Moving back to Tasmania in 2016 to settle with his family.

He is a favourite of our clients, for his ‘no-nonsense’ approach to his work and dry sense of humour, he loves to problem solve and just get the job done.
